Residents may have noticed that over the Fall/Winter months DPW has been working in many different areas of town doing tree work by removing dead trees and small trees within the towns ROW (right of way) that may impact drivability and public safety. We have also been cutting back/trimming some of our roadways by raising the canopy to help allow better sight lines, a little more sunshine onto our roadways, a little easier mobility for our taller traffic and to just to help us better maintain our roadways. Public Works will continue tree trimming this week; We are finishing up Williams Crossing Road then we will be moving onto Reservoir Road and Camp Mooween Road. We hope to have these areas done by the end of March. Please feel free to contact DPW (860-642-7565) or the 1st Selectman’s office (860-642-6100) any time if you have any questions or concerns, tree work takes time and priorities will shift and we will do our best.
