In 2010 the Town of Lebanon became a member of the Regional Animal Control Services District, together with the towns of Sprague, Franklin, Bozrah and Lisbon. The District is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of the First Selectmen of the five towns. A Regional Animal Control Ordinance was passed at a Lebanon Town Meeting on July 1, 2010 allowing this process to occur.
The Regional Pound is staffed by two part-time Animal Control Officers, Mike Murphy (daytime) and Scott Trahan (evenings/weekends) for the District.
Routine calls should be placed to the Regional Animal Pound at (860) 642-6379; the voice mailbox will be checked on a regular basis.
For emergencies only please call: 1 (800) 236-1987.
The Animal Pound has dogs available for adoption, and is open every Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, or by appointment. The pound does not accept or adopt out cats, but can provide callers with other options within the region. If you are looking for a new family pet, try our pound first! Although the number of animals available varies from time to time, we usually can provide an excellent pet at very low cost.
