The First Selectman and Administrative Assistant are available full-time as they oversee the day-to-day operations of the Town Hall, Public Works Department, and general Town government. Questions regarding the Town's website may be addressed to this office as well as requests for use of the Town Green and reservations for Town Hall, Community Center and Fire Safety Complex Hall. Employment applications are processed in the Selectmen’s Office; applications for a temporary hand gun permit are available in the lobby of Town Hall, however, these permits are processed by the Resident State Trooper. Questions and/or concerns about any other matters involving Town highways, bridges, trees, and drainage are also handled by this office. Routine highway matters should be reported to the Public Works Department at: 860-642-7565.
Nominations for the 2017 Lebanon Citizen of the Year Award are being sought. This award was established by the Lebanon Bicentennial Commission and was first presented in 1974. The award is presented to an individual of good character who has made significant volunteer contributions to the community; this may include time volunteered to clubs, organizations, churches and hospitals. Nominations will be accepted up until Monday, May 15, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. and may be mailed or delivered by hand in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Citizen of the Year Nomination” to the Lebanon Town Hall, Office of The First Selectman, 579 Exeter Road, Lebanon, CT 06249. Original signatures are required on the nomination forms or letters.
The Lebanon Citizen of the Year will be chosen by ballot by the Town's past recipients of the award. The name of the 2016 recipient of the award will be announced during the ceremonies following the Memorial Day Parade on May 27, 2017 at the Lebanon Town Hall. In the event of inclement weather and the parade is cancelled, the ceremony will be held at the Lyman Memorial High School gymnasium beginning at 10:00 a.m. There is no rain date.
