Get Involved: Earth Day in Lebanon
Every year, Lebanon celebrates Earth Day with a Town-wide spring cleanup program. Residents can Adopt-A-Road from March to April and commit to cleaning up all (or part) of the street and dispose of the waste free of charge. Simply stop by the Selectmen's Office in Town Hall to pick up our special Earth Day trashbags. These bags can be brought to the Transfer Station for free or left roadside and designated for pickup by the Department of Public Works by notifying the Selectmen's Office during normal operating hours.
Our Earth Day activities culminate on Saturday, April 27 when volunteers will mulch, weed, and plant in areas around town properties. A dump truck for the disposal of waste from mulching will also be located in the library parking lot on this day. The Boy Scouts will also be in need of volunteers to assist with their planting activities. If you are interested in helping, contact the Troop 58 Boy Scouts Earth Day Coordinator Bill Dodge for details.
Our Earth Day activities are made possible with help from the Troop 58 Boy Scouts, the Lebanon Garden Club, Prides Corner Farms, The Scotts Company, Ladd's Garden Center, the Solid Waste Commission, and the Department of Public Works, and volunteers like you.
Call the Selectmen's Office at 860-642-6100 for more information.
